Jarrah Burl Wall Sculpture

This magnificent slab of Jarrah Burl come from the land down under. Australian burls are my favorite burls on the planet.
At 35 inches in diameter, this sculpture would have a dramatic impact hanging on a fireplace or in an entry way or prominently hung in the reception area of your office. The form and texture reminds one of a ancient war shield that may have been uncovered in an archeological dig.
I hand hammered the 3 1/2inch domed center medallion from heavy copper bar stock and polished it to a mirror-like finish. The black rings of the design were created not by dye or stain, but with fire! These accent rigs were carefully "scortched" using a small torch.
Other sculptures, similar to this, are on their way. This is just the first.
I will crate and ship (via ground)this handsome piece for free, if shipped within the continental United States.
